Music Video Finale

Yo guys, it's Michael here-obviously-and back at it again with them white vans! Nah, just kidding, I'm actually here to tell you about our next project. Which is making a music video, as you can tell by the name of this blog. Anyway, my team is Violet, Sofia, & Akasha, and our song is "We Go Together" by We Go Together by John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John. This song is from Grease, a movie, and we chose it because we thought that it was a very fun song to do and we had a really well-thought storyline. How we chose it is we're supposed to write down a list of songs, and our teammate, Akasha, had it. So we listened to it, and started dancing. We had so many ideas, so we chose it. I had never really enjoyed Grease, but I like the dancing and the songs. So, I was really into the song when they played showed it to my group and I.

Our story line is about three girls who are having a great day at the park. However, there is this one boy, me:), who isn't as energetic or enthusiastic as they are. So, they try to cheer him up to make him happy. But still does not budge. They eventually cheer him up and they have a great time. Our plot relates to our lyrics because one shot, it says,"That's the way it should be" and Sofia tries to hug him, but Michael avoids her. Also, "We Go Together" is like those three girls, trying to make me happy going with their peppy group. I feel that this project has been going up for our team right now. We have been meeting up out of school, on our own time, and have been getting a lot of our filming done. We really only need like two more scenes, editing & a band poster, and we're done.

On our rough-cut, we got a 4/4. I feel that we got this grade because we have been meeting a lot out of our own time, and were being productive. Therefore, the degree of our quality in our music video-I feel- will be pretty high considering that we got an A for the rough-cut. It showcases our best work because we have great camera quality, high definition shots and out-of-the-box ideas. Our entire team has been working very hard to get a good grade. While editing, Akasha and I are working on the band posters. I feel that we, still,  can improve it because while just briefly looking through it,  we received a B. I feel that we got this because our picture was kind of blurry, and didn't quite meet the requirements. However, we fixed it and did our best to change the B to an A. This is how I feel our degree of the music video showcases our best work.

Lyrics:

We go together
Like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong
Remembered forever
As shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
That's the way it should be
Wah-oooh, yeah!
We're one of a kind
Like dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo
Our names are signed
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy
Shooby doo-wop she-bop
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
We'll always be like one, wa-wa-wa-one
When we go out at night
And stars are shinin' bright
Up in the skies above
Or at the high school dance
Where you can find romance
Maybe it might be love
Rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong
Shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
Dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy
Shoo-be doo-wop she-bop
Sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na yippity dip de doom
Rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong
Shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
Dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy
Shoo-be doo-wop she-bop
Sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na yippity dip de doom
Wop ba-ba lu-mop and wop bam boom!
We're for each other
Like a wop ba-ba lu-bop and wop bam boom
Just like my brother is
Sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na yippity dip de doom
Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop
We'll always be together
Wha oooh, yeah!
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together
We'll always be together

Movie Trailer Premier

Aloha, guys! Get ready to be amazed, because our movie trailer is coming soon. Our movie is called, "The Choice." It's about a spoiled girl named Violet and ran away when she didn’t get what she wanted. She ends up lost and is found by a homeless man. At first she wants to go home right away but then she starts to like the way the homeless man lives and the homeless man becomes her friend, a real friend. He is very kind, generous, and he is not like any other friends she’s had before. Riley has to make a choice. Will she go back to her perfect life? I contributed to this by playing a role as a homeless man who teaches Violet to appreciate what she has already. Our goal is to create a movie that will leave our audience at the edge of their seats. Also, it should be about from 90-120 seconds long:) It should be high quality-like everything we've done already-so their eyes are glued to the screen.

The worst, most stressing part about this specific project was getting together. Figuring the perfect time to film our movie was unbelievable. There was soccer practice to think about, busy errands, and of course it just won't work out. But, we got it done and I feel great. Although the cons may be very frustrating, the best part has to be seeing everything being put together. The final cut looks amazing and I can't wait to share it with you guys!

Our results were that we go an A! I feel that we got an A because we met up, took time, came in at recess and lunches, and worked together. I do feel, also, the we deserved a good grade. Mostly because our movie trailer composed intensity, creativity, and most importantly: hard work. This project was very fun because I had never made a movie trailer before and I like to try new things. So, yeah, I think that this just about does it for this blog. See you guys in the next one!

Peace;)

Metamorphosis Animation

Hey, long time no see! Just kidding:) Anyway, so now we're talking about the goal of this project. The project that we're working on now is metamorphosis animation. Our job for the first part of the animation process is to make at least 5 slides showing information about two focus statements we have chosen. Our goal is to produce a 1-2 minute animated movie with a custom soundtrack. Pretty cool, right? In order for us to do that, we have to present, as I said, our creative google slides.

Our focus statement for our animation is Mouse Faces Fears. Our first scene is where the mouse bullies bully Dill, the mouse. Next, they start to make fun of Dill and he runs away to a far away land. There he finds John, the lion. When Dill first meets John, he is frightened, but soon learns to trust him. Dill tells John what he's been going through, and Jahn helps Dill become as brave as a lion, to face his fears. When Dill has done that, he is now, not only as brave a John, he is a lion. Dill returns to the village, but now all the mice are afraid of him, but learn their lesson to be kinder to everyone. However, Dill still leaves to find new friends that appreciate him for who he really is. After a long journey, he finds a group of lions and become friends. Dill is now happy.

In photoshop, we did sketches for our storyboard to go with our plot. As you can see, my team mates were Moira and Katie. I was in charge of scene 3, and for each scene, there are 3 shots; wide, medium and close. Right below our storyboard is the results. We got a 3/4. I think that was our grade because our completion was kind of unfinished. In some shots, there were drawings yet to be added. Also, in my scene, the first two shots are the same thing except one is closer than the other. So, yeah little things here and there. Thank you guys so much, see you next week.
Peace

Geometric Portraits

What's up?! Glad to be back! In class, we are discussing geometric portraits and are talking whether or not facial expressions are universal. What that means is are expressions the same all over the world? You know how people around where you live are able to determine if you're happy, mad, sad, worried, well, believe it or not, in other places around the world, what you think a person might be expressing, might be the opposite of what you're thinking. So, I think that expressions aren't universal because I took a survey online and they asked you to pick the right expression depending on the picture above. I got some wrong and some right. But, I was surprised of the results because that comes to show you that not everywhere has the same expressions that we do in some places. Therefore, I don't think expressions are universal.

Step-By-Step:
In the process of creating a low poly portrait, you first have to take a picture of yourself. You have to make sure that the space between the top of your head and the bottom of it, is about the same. Put the photo in your finder and open it with Adobe Photoshop. Make a new layer named, background, and put white paint. Lock the layer and leave it alone. Outline the outside of your head, including your hair with the line tool. Make sure that the color code is, ff0000, or the color, red. Start making your triangles. Make your triangles pretty large because an important step is coming up soon. Put your triangles on the whole entire half of your face. When you're done, merge all your shapes into the layer named, outline. Make a copy. One way you can copy a layer is select it and click the icon next to the trash, or a shortcut is command J. Name the copy Low Poly and put a position lock on it so you don't accidentally misplace it. Select that layer and start outlining your triangles with the polygonal lasso tool. Once you've outlined a triangle, you are going to push command F which stands for filter blur. Make sure that you outline the outside lining of the triangle or else, later on in the project, you'll have little cracks in between each space of the triangles. Repeat that step until you've blurred all of the triangles. On the outline layer,(if you'd like) unlock it and double-click on the layer. It will show you options, and click color overlay. That is the color your outline will be. We chose to do white. You can choose any color you want. Enjoy your result of your Low Poly project!:)

To end this blog, what I think I did better in my poly 2,(the one above) is putting in more detail and being able to tell the difference between different facial parts. For example, the eyes, nose, mouth, lips, hair, eyebrows, face, ears, etc. I'm also happy with the background and I captured my mom's expression. However, the strength with my poly 1(the one with the white outline) is that I was allowed to outline all my triangles with the line tool, which, conserved more space. It also kind of looks like me, but I think my best poly assignment was the poly 2. Well, it was nice to update you guys once again with going on around here in G. T.

Verbal Landscapes

Alright, nice to see you guys again!:) Guess what, our class has a new assignment! This week we're talking about how nature can impact our lives. Well, how I think nature can impact my life is how much it's taught me. What I mean by that is that I've learned so much just through nature. It's taught me how to always think positive and look on the bright side of things even when there's sadness and doubt. Never look down and always keep your head up. Another thing amazing about nature is that no matter where you go, it'll always be there. Also, nature has made a big impact on me because I realized, we are all so lucky to see the wonders of God right before us and, if we want the future generation to see this, then we need to keep up with it and take care of the environment! Anyways, so those are some ways nature has made an impact on me:)

Time Lapse- These kind of videos are made by taking pictures at different speeds. While those are being taken, different kinds of frames are made. When the frames are put together at a normal speed, it appears much faster.

Slow-Mo- Now, the way slow-mos are made is by using motion-speed television and they are again taking many pictures at very fast speeds. When it over speeds, and it's is put in regular speed, the clip appears much slower.

Alright, to conclude, what I thought the hardest part of this project was getting used to all the directions and doing what I was told. Also, being on task and getting my work done. But, I have to say the best part of this project was taking videos, making the poem, sharing it with you guys, and just having fun making nice, fun, inspirational stuff for ya'll. Thank you so much for your support and see you guys next time.
Later;)

For this project, I scored a 3/4. I scored 3/4 because the majority of my class put me under accomplished which is a 3 in this class. I think I scored a 3/4 because parts of my clips were too loud and sometimes, you weren't able to hear me speaking. I also think I deserved a 3/4 because that's the grade I gave myself. What I think I can do better at is better quality in my videos and make my captions go with what I was saying at that moment. That is my self-reflection.

Poetic Personal Statement

What's up fellow friends! My name is Michael, a.k.a, MichaelxAloha. This is my first blog post and I will be sharing many cool and exciting things. I hope that when you're reading my blogs you'll find some inspiration and motivation to do more greater things in life and help the community. So, have a good time reading my blogs!

In my G.T. class, we're explaining how poetry can be personal to one another. How I think poetry can be personal because when writing poetry, many people can put their own feelings inside of what they’re writing. Another way poetry can be personal is if there are very colorful words and a backstory or meaning to what you’re writing. For example, when painting, “Starry Night”, Vincent Van Gogh was in deep pain and sorrow. He put in what he was feeling. The painting,”Starry Night”, to some people, may indicate sadness. You can put your feelings into anything you do. Whether it’s poetry, art, sports, or hobbies. Those are some ways and examples of how poetry can be personal.

Poetry is a way for me to express myself through sports
It can make me sound as clear as quartz
It motivates me to be a better soccer player
And helps me to get closer to nature
I love to be fun and active
Being a soccer player makes me want to practice
I want to continually get better
And put in all of my effort

Unfortunately my friends, this will have to end my first blog of the month:(. I hope you guys had a good time reading my blog and found some inspiration within it. I had a good time creating this blog for you guys. I will keep you posted and updated on what's happening in our school.

See ya later;)
